A Research on Išuṷa Country

Abstract
The name of Išuṷa country (around Elazığ city now) which is learnt from the Hittite tablets had managed by dependently with Hittites and the relationship between the two countries had started during the period of I.(II.)Tutḫaliḭa. Išuṷa had been started to enter the domination of Hittites during I.Šuppiluliuma definitely; it had been to quite down up to end of the period of IV.Tutḫaliḭa completely. The Hittite tablets teach us, not only the gods of Išuṷa country but also the kings of the country that they had important functions on cult. There is not any evidence about the independence of Išuṷa country before the collapse of Ḫatti country. The information about the region was only seen on the tablets of I.Tiglatpileser, III.Salmanassar and Urartian documents.
