A review of cardiovascular disease induced by radiation
Journal Title: Experimental Biomedical Research - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases are still in the 1st place in the world among cause of deaths. Data accumulates about publications investigating the effect of radiation on cardiovascular disease. Ionized radiation is used for diagnosis and treatment of many disease, recently. As for invasive cardiology; coronary artery disease, cardiac valve diseases, electrophysiological studies require radiation assistance. It is very important for invasive cardiologists to know the cardiovascular adverse effects of radiation and radiation protection methods.

Comparison of platelet volume indices in acute coronary syndrome
Aim: To compare the parameters showing the platelet volume index in unstable angina pectoris (USAP), non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (non-STEMI) and ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Methods: The plat...
Effects of gestational exercise on hyperoxia-induced brain damage in the newborn
Aim: Preterm infants encounter hyperoxia relatively early on as they leave the intrauterine environment earlier than expected, while also being exposed to a higher level of hyperoxic stress due to insufficiencies in thei...
Our experience regarding withdraw blood from rats and preparation of platelet-rich plasma
Aim: Withdraw blood from rats is an important, but not easy, invasive procedure in experimental research on these animals. In addition, the preparation and standardization of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a more difficul...
Evaluation of retinal nerve fiber layer and ganglion cell layer thicknesses with optical coherence tomography in patients with vitamin B12 deficiency
Aim: We aimed to compare the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) and ganglion cell layer (GCL) thickness of B12 vitamin deficiency patients with healthy controls using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods: Forty-s...
