A Review on Free, Forced Vibration Analysis and Dynamic Stability of Ordinary and Functionally Grade Material Plates
Journal Title: Caspian Journal of Applied Sciences Research - Year 2012, Vol 1, Issue 13
Abstract
Vibration is the study of mechanical oscillations (repetitive motion) of an object about its rest position. Unnecessary vibrations may lead to system failure because of unpleasant motions and the dynamic stresses. Vibration can be useful or undesirable causing user discomfort, noise and bodily health problems and structural endurance problems, Vibration near resonance cause high and amplitude dynamic fatiguing stress. So a designer needs to reduce the undesirable vibrations, while the dynamic loads acting on it. Because of these undesirable vibrations the system energy will be losses and the performance of the system was decreased. The kinetic energy of the system is decreases and is transformed to heat and material damage. Thus there is need among end-users to obtain products whose dynamical behaviour more satisfactory for humans and environment than now. The plates are needed in numerous important engineering structures. Optimal of plates under dynamical loads is often highly desired. One of the vital issues is the structural vibrations of plate in engineering problems. This paper presents the recent development on the various plate theories and methods of analysis of free, forced vibrations and dynamic instability problems for very thin, moderately thick and thick plates, which are homogeneous and functionally graded material plates unlike composite plates. The goal in this work is to serve as a reference for highly diverse researches in dynamic instability of structural field.

Estimation and Prediction of Inverse Lomax Model via Bayesian Approach
Statistical analysis via Bayesian approach is a common practice applied to draw inferences about unknown parameter(s) of a probability distribution. This article includes Bayesian inference of unknown shape parame...
Study of Conjugate Convective Flow and entropy generation in a Channel Containing a Heated Obstacle
This theoretical work studied the heat transfer behaviour of laminar convection flow in a duct with a heated obstacle. The second law analysis is used to investigate the distribution of entropy generation in the f...
Behavior of external column- wide beam joint with different bar arrangement and existence of joint shear link under gravity
An experimental investigation done on the RC exterior wide beam-column joint when subjected to the gravity load up to failure is reported in this paper. This study was conducted by applying the concentrated gravity load...
Shear Strength Prediction of Crushed Stone Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams without Stirrups
In this investigation the shear strength behaviour of crushed stone reinforced concrete deep beams without shear reinforcement have been studied, for this purpose eleven reinforced crushed stone concrete deep beam...
Length-Weight relationships, Relative condition factor and Relative weight of three fish species from beach seine fishing grounds Iranian coastal waters of Caspian Sea
The aim of this study is to record the length-weight relationship, relative condition factor (Krel) and relative weight (Wr) for three fish species in Iranian coastal waters of the Caspian Sea. Fish sampling was carried...
