A REVIEW ON NANOCOCHLEATES NOVEL APPROACH FOR DRUG DELIVERY
Journal Title: WORLD JOURNAL PHARMACY AND PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 7
Abstract
Nanocochleate is a novel drug delivery system which have ability to enacapsulate the water soluble cationic drugs as well as hydrophobic and hydrophilic drugs. This nanotechnology is use encapsulate drug which have cationic and anionic nature and that possess poor oral bioavailability. Nanocochleates are lipid based supramolecular assemblies made from natural product anionic phospholipid and divalent cation Main purpose of development of the nanocochleate drug delivery to improve therapeutic efficacy of therapeutic active agent. Nanocochleate is a lipid based drug delivery in the liposomal vesicles is convert in to nanocochleate by action of calcium divalent cation. Nanocochleates technology also use encapsulation of anticancer agent because of anticancer agent have low oral bioavailability and also have low solubility and low permeability.
