A Review on Software Fault Detection and Prevention Mechanism in Software Development Activities

Journal Title: IOSR Journals (IOSR Journal of Computer Engineering) - Year 2015, Vol 17, Issue 6

Abstract

Abstract: The need of distributed and complex commercial applications in enterprise demands error free and quality application systems. This makes it extremely important in software development to develop quality and fault free software. It is also very important to design reliable and easy to maintain as it involves a lot of human efforts, cost and time during software life cycle. A software development process performs various activities to minimize the faults such as fault prediction, detection, prevention and correction. This paper presents a surveyon current practices for software fault detection and prevention mechanisms in the software development. It also discusses the advantages and limitations of these mechanisms which relates to the quality product development and maintenance.
