A Review on Stabilization of Indian Soils for Road Construction by Using Fly Ash
Journal Title: JOURNAL OF ADVANCED RESEARCH IN CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING - Year 2018, Vol 5, Issue 1
Abstract
There has been tremendous increase in the generation of fly-ash in India since more than 70% of the electricity demand here is met by coal based thermal power plants. Coal fly ash is a by-product obtained from coal combustion in thermal power plants and its improper disposal has become an environmental concern, so there is an ongoing need to develop recycling methods for coal fly ash. The present review focuses on use of fly ash in the soil stabilization thereby utilizing in civil engineering applications in Indian context and thus provides directions for future research.
