A Study of Comparison of Intubating Conditions and Haemodynamic Effects after the Administration of Succinylcholine and Rocuronium Bromide
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Anesthesia and Analgesia - Year 2019, Vol 6, Issue 4
Abstract
Background and Aim: Though rocuronium has a rapid onset of neuromuscular blockade like succinylcholine without the latter's adverse effects, its use is limited due to its prolonged action. Present study was performed with an aim to compare the outcome of using Rocuronium and Succinylcholie as muscle relaxant (MR). Material and Methods: A single-center, prospective-randomized, blinded study of 60 patients, divided into 2 groups and intubation conditions were evaluated. Results: The intubating conditions were scored as excellent in 29 and 26, and Good intubating conditions were observed in 1 and 4 Patients of group I and 2 respectively. Conclusion: We conclude that rocuronium, an innovative nondepolarizing MR with a succinct onset of action and transitional duration, but lack of the unpleasant reactions connected with succinylcholine may be a appropriate alternative to succinylcholine for tracheal intubation.

A Study on Combined Spinal Epidural Labour Analgesia a Comparison between 0.125% Bupivacaine with Fentanyl Versus 0.1% Ropivacaine with Fentanyl
Introduction: The responsibility of the Anaesthesiologist in obstetrics is arguably greater than in any other fields of anaesthesia. Aim: To compare the quality of epidural analgesia of 0.125% bupivacaine with 0.1% ropiv...
Assessment of Sensory and Motor Blockade by Bupivacaine with Dexmeditomedine or Fentanyl as Adjuvant in Lower Abdominal and Lower Limb Surgeries
Introduction: In the present-day practice of Anaesthesiology Bupivacaine is the most commonly used drug for subarachnoid block. Many adjuvants have been tried to improve the quality of analgesia and to prolong the durati...
A Comparison of the Effectiveness of Post-operative Analgesia for Single Dose Epidural 0.125% Levobupivacaine and 0.2% Ropivacaine in Patients Posted for Elective Lower Limb Surgeries
Central neuraxial blockade in the form of epidural is very popular for lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries as these techniques avoids the disadvantages associated with general anaesthesia like airway manipulation, p...
Study on Effectiveness of EMLA Cream in Attenuation of the Hemodynamic Response to Venepuncture
Context: The anxiety related to venepuncture can result in a hemodynamic stress response leading to increase in heart rate and blood pressure of the patient. Aims: To evaluate the efficacy of eutectic mixture of local an...
To Compare The Haemodynamic Resopnses and Adequacy of Ventilation Between Laryngoscopic Endotracheal Intubation and Laryngeal Mask Airway Classic Insertion in Short Surgical Procedures Under General Anaesthesia with Muscle Relaxation
The haemodynamic response associated with laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation may be harmful to certain patients. The laryngeal mask airway (LMA) avoids the need for laryngoscopy and allows positive pressure ventilation...
