A Study of Image Segmentation and Edge Detection Techniques
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2011, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
Image segmentation is the key behind image understanding. Image segmentation is one of the most important steps leading to the analysis of processed image data. It is the prime area of research in computer vision. A number of image segmentation techniques are available ,but there is no one single technique that is suitable to all the applications .Hence researches select the techniques as per the application or combine more than one techniques as per the requirement of the application. In this paper we have discussed about some image segmentation techniques like edge based, region based and integrated techniques and explains in brief the edge based techniques and their evaluation. This paper focuses on edge based techniques and their evaluation.

Performance Analysis of Lifetime Maximizing Trees for Data Aggregation in Wireless Sensor Networks
In this paper the performance of the proposed DLMT and CLMT algorithms are compared. These proposed algorithms tend to extend the node lifetime. Decentralized lifetime maximizing tree(DLMT) features in nodes with higher...
Ultrasonic Sensor Based 3D Mapping & Localization
This article provides a basic level introduction to 3D mapping using sonar sensors and localization. It describes the methods used to construct a low-cost autonomous robot along with the hardware and software used as wel...
Performance Comparision of Image Retrieval using Row Mean of Transformed Column Image
The paper presents innovative content based image retrieval (CBIR) techniques based on row mean of transformed column image as feature vector. For proposed CBIR techniques three different image transforms like Discrete C...
An Efficient Pruning Technique for Mining Frequent Itemsets in Spatial Databases
Frequent Itemset Mining is evaluating the rules and relationship within the data items are optimizing it, in the large spatial databases (for e.g. Images, Docs, AVI files etc).It is one of the major problems in DM (Data...
Exponential Observers for Lotka-Volterra Systems
This paper solves the exponential observer design problem for Lotka-Volterra systems. Explicitly, Sundarapandian’s theorem (2002) for observer design for exponential observer design is used to solve the nonlinear observe...
