A Study on Block Matching Algorithms for Motion Estimation
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2011, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Block matching motion estimation is the essence of video coding systems. This paper gives a review of the different block matching algorithms used for motion estimation in video compression. It compares 10 different types of block matching algorithms that range from the very basic Full Search to the recent fast adaptive algorithms like Pattern Based Search. The lgorithms that are evaluated in this paper have been used in implementing various standards ranging from MPEG1 / H.261 o MPEG4 / H.263.

Implementation Of 3D DWT With 5/3 LeGall Filter For Image Processing
The discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is being increasingly used for image coding 3D-DWT provides interesting possibilities and has been studied to resolve the problem associated with compression of large size images. How...
COMPARISON OF MULTICAST ROUTING PROTOCOLS IN AD-HOC WIRELESS NETWORKS
The majority of applications are in the areas where rapid deployment and dynamic reconfiguration are necessary and a wire line network is not available. These include military battlefields, emergency search and rescue si...
Visual Cryptographic Applications
Visual Cryptography is a special kind of cryptographic scheme where the decryption of the encrypted secret is done by the human vision and not by complex mathematical calculations. Visual Cryptography deals with any secr...
Workload-aware VM Scheduling on Multicore Systems
In virtualized environments, performance interference between virtual machines (VMs) is a key challenge. In order to mitigate resource contention, an efficient VM scheduling is positively necessary. In this paper, we pro...
Improvement in Word Sense Disambiguation by introducing enhancements in English WordNet Structure
Word sense disambiguation (WSD) is an open problem of natural language processing, which governs the process of identifying the appropriate sense of a word (i.e. intended meaning) in a sentence, when the word has multipl...
