A Study on Occupational Stress Index in Select Private Sector Life Insurance Companies

Abstract

The current study means to focus on the process of evaluating the major reasons or stressors that cause stress in the workplace among private sector life insurance employees Telangana State. For this purpose, the Occupational Stress Index coined by Srivastava and Singh in 1984 is espoused and applied to evaluate the major reasons for creating stress at employees’ occupation. For this study, two private gigantic life insurance companies viz., SBI Life Insurance Private Limited and Reliance-Nippon Life Insurance Private Limited are selected. The research survey conducted among 320 employees of select private life insurance companies who are randomly selected from various branches located in Khammam District from Telangana State. The results obtained in the research were purely based on the statistical analysis by using suitable statistical methods using SPSS.
