A Survey on Several Techniques Used To Detect Selfish Node in MANET
Journal Title: Elysium Journal of Engineering Research and Management - Year 2016, Vol 6, Issue 2
Abstract
Mobile Adhoc Network is a continuously self-configuring, infrastructure-less network of mobile devices connected without wires. Each device in a MANET is free to move independently in any direction, and will therefore change its links to other devices frequently. The Communication in MANET is take place by using multi-hop paths. Nodes in the MANET share the wireless medium and the topology of the network changes erratically and dynamically. In MANET, breaking of communication link is very frequent, as nodes are free to move to anywhere. The density of nodes and the number of nodes are depends on the applications in which we are using MANET. Many applications there are still some design issues and challenges to overcome. In practice some of the nodes in MANET act as selfish node that is such kind of nodes reserve their resource and energy for its own use but they do not cooperate with other nodes in the network. This paper discusses several techniques to detect selfish nodes in MANET.
