A Survey on Smartphone-Based Accident Reporting and Guidance Systems
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Applications - Year 2018, Vol 9, Issue 9
Abstract
Every day, around the world, a large percentage of people die from road accidents and falls. One of the reasons for a person's death during accidents is the unavailability of first aid, due to the delay in informing about the accident. Thus, in the case of incidents involving vehicles or falls, response time is crucial for the timely provision of emergency medical services. An effective approach intended to reduce the number of traffic-related deaths is: the use of a system for detecting and reporting the occurred accidents, as well as reducing the time between the occurrences of an accident and sending the first emergency respondents to the scene of the accident. This paper presents a recent study on mobile terminal solutions (smartphones) for detecting and preventing accidents (road, falls, bicycles) and systematic comparisons of existing solutions.
