A three-level distributed task scheduling system for computational grid

Abstract

Task scheduling is one of the most challenging problems in the grid resource management. A three-level distributed task scheduling architecture is proposed, which puts emphasis on the heterogeneity, autonomy and scalability of the computational grid. The domain scheduler is the key module of the system and its behaviors are explained in detail. The usability and validity of the grid scheduling system are exhibited with the N-body grid application in a campus computational grid testbed.
