A Three Way Analysis of the Academic Capital of a Romanian University
Journal Title: Journal of Applied Quantitative Methods - Year 2008, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper applies three-way analysis (Kroonenberg, 1982, 2008) to the components of academic capital of a Romanian university, over a five-year period, showing the biases and the relations between the various components. The influences from inside the academia are being discussed, together with analyzing their positive or not so positive effect on the variables related to academic capital. The model of intellectual capital, thoroughly discussed in literature, is being adapted to this particular situation, of a university in the situation of "leasing" its academic capital for the sake of academic capitalism. The tensions between the two concepts are underlined, in a framework which, being applicable to every university, relies on data collected from a Romanian economic university.

Experimental Design Techniques Applied to Study of Oxygen Consumption in a Fermenter
The dependence of the volumetric rate of oxygen consumption on the variables agitation and air flow, was studied in a laboratory scale fermenter. A 22 factorial experimental design, with four axial points and four replic...
Time-cost Optimization Model for Deterministic Network Projects
A deterministic PERT activity-on-arc network G(N, A) with logical operation "AND" at the event's receiver and "MUST FOLLOW" at the event's emitter, is considered. Each activity (i, j)∈ A entering the model can be operate...
ESTIMATION METHODS FOR THE STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODELS: MAXIMUM LIKELIHOOD, PARTIAL LEAST SQUARES E GENERALIZED MAXIMUM ENTROPY
The concept of Latent Variables (LVs or latent constructs) is, probably, one of the most charming and discussed of the last fifty years, although, even today, it is only possible to give a negative definition of it: what...
