ABOUT SOME ASPECTS OF DIDACTIC READINESS OF THE CADETS TO STUDENT- CENTERED LEARNING

Abstract

The article analyzes the didactic aspect of adaptation, so, the readiness of the cadet to master various (in comparison with the school) organizational forms of study at a higher school, methods and content of professional activity; adapt to a large amount of educational material for independent study and study of academic disciplines. It is emphasized that difficulties of the adaptation period are connected with such reasons as leaving the family, school friends and deprivation of their support and understanding; lack of day-to-day control of cadets by parents and teachers; uniformity of the cadets’ system of self-regulation and self-control in their activities; a new mode of work and rest, settlement of everyday life and self-service in conditions of residence in cadets’ hostel (barracks); insufficient psychological readiness to master the future profession; lack of skills for independent study (inability to make notes, to work with primary sources, dictionaries, catalogs, reference books and other types of literature, etc.) To solve this range of problem issues, related to the cadets’ adaptation period, and forming their didactic readiness for implementing student-centered learning in higher law schools, is possible due to: functioning of the Center for Applied Psychology, that will develop psycho-pedagogical guidelines for teachers, curators and course officers to implement effective correction maladjusted cadets; providing real choice of studying ways the job-related subjects etc. It is developed a system of exercises to form the cadets’ ability to plan, organize their learning activities, identify the necessary learning activities for successful training. It is determined the role of the teacher in preparing cadets to student-centered learning and it is indicated the problem of insufficient training of scientific and teaching staff of departments to student-centered learning in the higher law schools. One of the main ways to solve this problem is to organize effective work of advanced training courses, a school of pedagogical mastery in higher law schools, publication of author's manuals, guidelines on the issues of higher education, taking into account the specifics of higher law schools, etc.
