ABSORPTION RATIO METHOD FOR ESTIMATION OF DROTAVERINE HYDROCHLORIDE AND MEFENAMIC ACID IN THEIR COMBINED TABLET DOSAGE FORM
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Pharmacy (IRJP) - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 10
Abstract
A new, simple, accurate and sensitive UV-spectrophotometric absorption Ratio method has been developed for simultaneous determination of Drotaverine Hydrochloride and Mefenamic Acid in their combined Tablet dosage form. The method is based upon determination of Drotaverine HCl and Mefenamic Acid at 239 nm, and 280nm in Methanol. Drotaverine HCl and Mefenamic Acid at isoabsorptive λmax 239 nm and at 280 nm λmax Mefenamic acid shows linearity in the concentration range of 3-30 μg/ml and 3 -30 μg/ml respectively. The method was validated statistically.
