ACCELERATION MOTION OF A SINGLE VERTICALLY FALLING NON-SPHERICAL PARTICLE IN INCOMPRESSIBLE NON-NEWTONIAN FLUID BY DIFFERENT METHODS
Journal Title: Bulletin of Pure and Applied Sciences Sec. E - Mathematics and Statistics - Year 2018, Vol 37, Issue 2
Abstract
An analytical investigation is applied for acceleration motion of a vertically falling non-spherical particle in a Shear-thinning (n<1) and Shear-thickening (n>1) power low fluid. The acceleration motion of vertically falling non-spherical particle in non-Newtonian fluid can be described by the force balance equation (Basset-Boussinesq-Ossen equation). The main difficulty in the solution of this equation lies in the nonlinear term due to the nonlinearity nature of the drag coefficient. Varinational Iterations Method (VIM) and Numerical Method (Runge- Kutta 4th order method) are used to solve the present problem. The results were compared those obtained from VIM by R-K 4thorder method. We obtained that VIM which was used to solve such non-linear differential equation with fractional power is simpler and more accurate than other methods. Analytical results also indicate that the velocity in a falling procedure is significantly increased with approaching flow behavior to n→2 that validated with numerical method. Acceleration motion of a vertically falling single non-spherical particle is decreasing as behavior index increasing and particle falling in high behavior index fluid attains early its terminal velocity as compare to low behavior index fluid. To obtain the results for all different methods, the symbolic calculus software MATLAB is used.

Effect of Radiation and Oblateness on the Equilibrium Points in the Elliptic Restricted Three Body Problem
In this paper we have obtained the location of equilibrium points in the elliptic restricted three body problem. We suppose that the bigger primary is oblate and the smaller primary as radiating. We find the positions of...
On Sequential Graphs
A labeling or valuation of a graph G is an assignment f of labels to the vertices of G that indices for each edge xy a label depending on the vertex labels f(x) and f(y). In this paper we study some classes of graphs whi...
STABILITY ANALYSIS OF A NON-LINEAR HARVESTING MODEL WITH TAXATION
This paper formulates and analyzes a non-linear harvesting of prey, considered in a prey-predator system. Here, the effort is taken as a dynamic variable. Mathematical analysis of the model system includes the existence,...
A Condition on the Masses of Composite Particles
Based on the recent formulation of the standard model with the spinor space given by a direct sum of tensor products of modules isomorphic to division algebras, these algebras are used to derive an expression for masses...
A STUDY ON THE EFFECTIVE EDGES IN THE CARTESIAN PRODUCT OF FUZZY GRAPHS
In this paper we discuss the number of effective edges in the Cartesian product of fuzzy graphs. Some basic theorems and results are obtained on effective edges. Based on the results we find the effective edge domination...
