ACCESS OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS TO ACCOMMODATION IN KHARKIV REGION

Abstract
The article describes living conditions of the most vulnerable categories of the internally displaced persons (the elderly (over 60) and families with children) in Kharkiv region. The study was conducted on the basis of a survey of the internally displaced persons and the local population. Semi-structured interviews with experts of the real estate market of Kharkiv region were conducted. The author pays attention to the following aspects: types of accommodation where the internally displaced persons stay; share of income spent by the internally displaced persons on housing; difficulties and cases of discrimination faced by the internally displaced persons while finding accommodation; plans of the internally displaced persons for moving to other regions; attitude of the local population toward the internally displaced persons.
