Acclimatization of plants of Carica papaya var. Red maradol obtained by somatic embryogenesis
Journal Title: Biotecnología Vegetal - Year 2009, Vol 9, Issue 2
Abstract
Acclimatization stage of in vitro cultured papaya (Carica papaya L.) remains one of the main problems. This study evaluated the influence of the type of cover and length of in vitro plants for their survival in the acclimatization phase. Plants of papaya, variety red Maradol, obtained by somatic embryogenesis were used. An 80% of survival was reached using a nylon and mesh coverter. Results demonstrated that in vitro plants should be transferred to greenhouse conditions larger than 3 cm and with taproot present. This is a decisive influence on the development of plants in ex vitro conditions.

Native bacterial strains with plant growth promotion activities isolated from Coffea spp. rhizosphere in Pichanaqui, Perú
The deterioration of the soil and the demand for organic coffee, makes it necessary to find alternatives to improve its productivity and quality, so the objective of the research was to select native bacterial strains...
Obtaining plants of plantain hybrid cultivar ‘FHIA-21’ (Musa AAAB) from embryogenic cell lines
This investigation had as objective to obtain plants of plantain hybrid cultivar ‘FHIA-21’ (Musa AAAB) from embryogenic cell lines. For this study cell lines of callus were established with embryogenic structures formed...
Purification of phytotoxic metabolites from the filtrate culture of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense gcv 01210 (race 1)
Panama disease, caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense, is considered a destructive disease of economic importance in the genus Musa. The culture filtrates of the pathogen have been used to differentiate cultivars...
