Acoustic emission generated from wood-polypropylene composites
Journal Title: Annals of WULS, Forestry and Wood Technology; Zeszyty naukowe SGGW - Year 2015, Vol 91, Issue
Abstract
Acoustic emission generated from wood-polypropylene composites. The objective of the study was to assess the effect of wood particle size on the characteristic of acoustic emission generated from wood-polypropylene composites and on their tensile strength. The maximum event count, total event count, percentage of maximum force at the time of acoustic emission initiation and tensile strength were determined. It was found out that the filling of polypropylene with larger wood particles significantly increases the maximum event count, total event count and tensile strength, and decreases the percentage of maximum force.

Influence of milling and sanding on beech wood surface properties. Part II. Wetting and thermo-dynamical characteristics of wood surface
The aim of the second part has been to investigate the influence of beech wood mechanical treatment on wood surface wetting with standard apolar and polar-apolar liquids. Experimentally measured contact angles formed by...
Compression strength parallel to grain of lime wood impregnated with Paraloid B-72 solution in butyl acetate
Due to effortlessness of surface treatment and refinement, lime wood was commonly used in sculpture and production of painting supports. Unfortunately, it often suffer damages, because of low natural durability. There ar...
Вычисление изменения температуры воздуха во фризере во время замораживания тополиных кряжей
Equations for the computation of the experimentally determined change in the processing air medium temperature Tm in freezer during freezing of logs have been suggested. The decreasing of Tm during the freezing of the lo...
