Acoustical Materials – Sound Absorbing Materials Made of Pine Sawdust
Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Acoustics and Vibration - Year 2011, Vol 8, Issue 2
Abstract
In this paper different type of acoustical materials, like absorptive barrier materials, silencers, damping treatments and vibration isolators will be described and compared. The influence of the structure and way of placement on the degree of sound absorption will be highlighted. The materials used in this study are made by the author from pine sawdust and polyurethane binder.

The Waves Homogenization as a Function of the ε - Period of Oblique Gridwork
The article presents the homogenization of the wave problem after the ε - period of the gridworks structure in which the plates are oblique and the thickness of the structure is the same power with the ε - period that th...
Limits of the Discrete Fourier Transform in Exact Identifying of the Vibrations Frequency
This paper present the limitations encountered by using the Discrete Fourier Transform for the analysis of vibration signals. Difficulties in determining the precise frequencies appear particularly in cases where the acq...
Seismic Isolators - Double Sliding Bearings
The seismic protection of buildings by seismic isolation is continuously improving since many years. Many new materials and different shapes are contributing to the development of recent high performance devices. As seis...
On the Acoustic Auxetic Nanopanels
This paper presents an investigation of the acoustic suppression by auxetic nanopanels. Materials with negative Poisson’s ratio are termed auxetics. Instead of getting thinner like an elongated elastic band when stretche...
Experimental studies on Romanian building damping devices SERB C-194 and SERB TEL–150
This paper presents an experimental study of SERB C-194 and SERB TEL-150 new romanian damping devices used in equipping the buildings for protection during earthquakes. These dampers have a different type of hysteresis c...
