Adaptive Minimum Bit Error Rate Beamforming Assisted Detection for QAM Pre-FFT OFDM Communication Systems
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Computer and Communication Technology - Year 2015, Vol 4, Issue 5
Abstract
A novel adaptive beam forming technique is proposed for broadband wireless communication using quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signaling based on least symbol error rate (LSER) criterion, the adaptive antenna array (AAA) is combined with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) which provides better performance to combat intersymbol interference (ISI) and the directional interferences. The proposed design in this paper is for beamforming assisted receiver. The optimum beamformer weight is set in the time domain (pre-FFT) and is obtained based on LSER criteriain a pilot assisted OFDM system in a multipath fading channel. Simulation results show that QAM signaling Based on LSER technique utilizes the antenna array to achieve enhanced performance compared with the standard minimum mean square error MMSE technique because it directly minimizes BER and required shorter training symbols.
