ADVANCEMENT OF INFORMATION TOOLS FOR KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Abstract
Purpose. The justification for changing the organization’s model of innovation activity and the development of suggestions for improvement of information tools of knowledge management in transnational companies. Methodology of the research. A set of general scientific and special methods such as the abstract-logical method that is for the foundations generalization and knowledge management features definition in international companies, for features explaining of the "Innovative Rocket" innovation activity model; the systemic method that is for knowledge management system building foundations formulation and the ICT role in this field; the functional method that is for international business functions identification in the world economy, were used during the research. Furthermore, structural and institutional design methods were used to develop the concepts of knowledge management information tools in international business. The research is based on the world leading technology companies experience study. Findings. The knowledge management essence is clarified and its features are determined in international companies. The international business role in the world economy in the knowledge area is defined. The knowledge management system building fundamentals are formulated as well as the information and communication technologies possibilities are determined. The innovative activity organization model named "Innovative rocket" is explained. The knowledge management information tools creation concepts (information system for R&D management, a single information platform for innovation activity, a tool for formalizing knowledge) are proposed. The recommendations for corporate knowledge bases improvement are formulated Originality: 1) the knowledge management essence in the company is specified; 2) the conceptual fundamentals for the innovative activities organization new model construction named "Innovative rocket" are proposed; 3) the new knowledge management tools creation proposals in international companies as well as knowledge bases improvement recommendations are developed. Practical value. The research results can be used to improve the knowledge management systems and mechanisms in companies as well as to develop the special knowledge management information tools and to provide innovation activity.
