Advantages of Non-Binding Dispute Resolution Option: Perspective of International Peaceful Settlement of Disputes

Abstract
Alternative dispute settlement is an important form of non-adversarial justice practice around the world. Since the last few decades it has been institutionalised because of its maturity and potential in resolving variety of disputes. In international dispute settlement especially in case of interstate problems the state parties are more concern to hold their own position of bargaining. Anything informal or alternative is helpful for the state to control the process. The popular argument in ADR literatures about the growth of ADR is- it affords the contenders to take informal, quick, cost effective and confidential proceedings.
