Розглядається сутність активної безпеки автомобіля в системі безпеки автомобільного транспорту, визначено основні напрями роботи щодо поліпшення безпеки руху. Обґрунтовано необхідність розробки систем, які дозволять або нейтралізувати надлишковий керуючий вплив, або здійснити корекцію недостатніх керуючих дій водія.
