Alternative methodology for preparing a thermally intact lysate of Trichomonas vaginalis.
Journal Title: World Journal of Medical Images, Videos and Cases - Year 2019, Vol 5, Issue
Abstract
Trichomonas vaginalis is currently one of the most common sexually transmitted agents in the world and the most common parasitic STI with many cases being asymptomatic in both sexes. This is a small pilot study for working out the methodology for lysing the cells of T. vaginalis for a bigger project. The FastPrep method, as per methodology described, turned out to be an efficient tool for mechanical lysis of T. vaginalis trophozoites.
