ALTERNATIVES OF INCANDESCENT BULBS

Abstract
On 18 March 2008, the Europe Commission adopted a regulation on non-directional household lamps which would replace inefficient incandescent bulbs by more efficient alternatives (such as improved incandescent bulbs with halogen technology and compact fluorescent lamps) between 2009 and 2012. In this article the parameters of alternative lamps are discussed. Benefits and disadvantages of CFL, LED’s and halogens are highlighted. Two practical examples of changing incandescent bulbs to more efficient lamps were submitted in an article. Also some recommendations consumers were presented.
