An artificial neural network model of the Chemical Vapor Deposition Processes for Carbon – Carbon composites.
Journal Title: Carbon - Science and Technology - Year 2008, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
A model of artificial neural network (ANN) is developed for the analysis of the correlation between the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processing parameters and the densification of carbon - carbon (C/C) composites. The input parameters of the ANN model are the manipulative temperature, the density of carbon fiber preforms and the flow rate of acetylene. The output of the ANN model is the density of C/C composites. With the aid of the ANN model, the effects of the CVD processing parameters on the densification of C/C composites are discussed and the relationship between the process conditions and the microstructure of pyrocarbon is discussed as well.

Electrochemical characterization of Ruthenium oxide on carbon paste electrodes in acid systems
A comparative study of the electrochemical behavior of ruthenium in the electrolytic system 10-2 M RuCl3 / 1 M HClO4 at pH=1 was carried out using carbon paste electrodes prepared with carbon black (nanostructurated). Me...
Implementation of Decentralized Power Generation by Biogas Digester: Policy in Perspective
This paper aims to evolve innovative system for fast track implementation of decentralized power generation by biogas digester across the country commensurate with estimated potential of this energy resource. The methodo...
Removal of cationic surfactant (CTAB) from aqueous solution onto activated carbon obtained from corncob
Direct and indirect releases of large quantities of surfactants to the environment may result in serious health and environmental problems. Therefore, surfactants should be removed from water before water is released to...
Oxygen reduction activity of carbon fibers cathode, and application for current generation from the NAD+ and NADH recycling reaction
Carbon fibers treated at 700 oC for 10 min. were found to have O2 reduction activity when being used as a cathode. The special type of partition combined with both cationic and anionic exchange membranes was applied betw...
A study on machining parameters for wire electrical discharge machining of circular contouring in stir cast AA6063/SiC composites
Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is used in machining electric conductive materials for intricate shapes and profiles. This paper presents an experimental investigation on the influence of machining conditions...
