Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 6, Issue 7
Abstract
This research ends to investigate factors affecting the teachers’ job performance in Agricultural High School in Mazandaran province, Iran. This is a descriptive-correlative research. The statistical population includes 127 teachers. The sample size was determined using Cochran’s formula, 110 teachers were selected, and 108 teachers completed the questionnaires. Questionnaire is the research instrument. A group of extension specialists measured the content validity of questionnaires. In order to investigate the reliability of research questionnaires, 29 teachers were randomly selected and they completed the questionnaires. In addition, Cronbach's alpha, ordinal theta and combination reliability were 0.95, 0.92 and 0.87 respectively. The results indicate that the level of job performance (%75 of Agricultural High School teachers in Mazandaran province) is very high, which is a good indicator of the degree of job duties performed by teachers of these training centers. Furthermore, the variables of environmental factors, motivational factors, educational factors, and job ability have a significant positive correlation with job performance; therefore, these variables have a positive impact on teachers’ job performance. Also, variables of salary, antecedent, and total hours of educational period have a significant negative correlation with job performance. It must be noted that there is not a significant relationship between job performance and organizational factors and job satisfaction. Based on the results of stepwise regression analysis, %47.5 of changes related to job performance of Agricultural High School teachers will be determined by four variables: the ability to design curriculum and lesson plan, the ability to assess and evaluate student, similar attitudes and opinions in High School and variable of income (salary).
