AN INVESTIGATION OF INTERVIEW FAKING BEHAVIORS AMONG JOB CANDIDATES WITH INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE VERSUS CANDIDATES WITH NO INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

Abstract
Aim of this study is to examine the interview faking behaviors with regard to subdimensions of image creation, image protection and ingratiation. Sample consists of participants with interview experience and with no interview experience. As such, tendency to perform faking behaviors are investigated with regard to group comparisons. Faking behaviors do not differ according to educational status, interview type and number of interviews whereas statisticaly meaningful differences are observed with regard to gender, age, marital status and interview experience. Study is essential in terms of drawing attention to faking behaviors that candidates could engage during employment interviews. Avenues for future studies are also discussed.
