An Overview on the Architecture of WhatsApp

Abstract

WhatsApp Messenger Application is a messaging application that uses the Internet to connect to the person whose number is registered with WhatsApp Account. Various Databases have been used in the distributed applications so far. In this Application of Mnesia Database ushers us into a new set of opportunities to be explored and XMPP server is used to maintain the messages queue. In this paper , a general overview on the architecture used by Whatsapp making it one of the most reliable and fast media transfer application has been explored.
