An Unusual Location of Epidermoid Cyst in Mesentry: Case Report with a Review of Literature

Journal Title: Scholars Journal of Applied Medical Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 6

Abstract

Mesentric cysts are rare, usually areasymtomatic, abdominal lesions. Epidermoid cysts developing in the mesentry are quiet rare and are common in the presacral region. We report a case in a 52 year old female presenting with mass per abdomen. Physical examination was done followed by specific investigations i.e, ultrasound and CT. The final diagnosis was made only after the laparotomy where the mass was excised and pathological examination was done. Epidermoid cyst should be considered as the differential diagnosis in investigation of any abdominal cyst. Keywords: Mesentric cyst, Epidermoid cyst, Mesentry
