Anaesthetic implications during off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Clinical Anaesthesia - Year 2018, Vol 5, Issue 3
Abstract
Offpump coronary artery bypass has emerged as a popular method of coronary revascularization to mitigate the harmful effects of cardiopulmonary bypass It requires surgical and anaesthetic expertise for good results Newer minimally invasive approaches to off pump coronary bypass provide attractive alternatives to conventional off pump surgery especially in achieving better cosmetic results and early extubation They require good perioperative pain management with epidural and paravertebral block being good choices Emergency conversion of offpump bypass to onpump bypass is associated with poor outcomes so preventive measures to avoid it should be employedKeywords Offpump coronary artery bypass Anaesthetic implications

A clinical evaluation of the I gel and Air Q as conduits for blind tracheal intubation in adult patients
Introduction: Supraglottic airway devices have been recommended to be used as a conduit for tracheal intubation when required. We hypothesized that both I gel and Air Q would favor blind tracheal intubation with equal su...
Ophthalmological changes after posterior spine surgeries: A prospective study
Introduction: Postoperative visual loss (POVL) after posterior approach to spine surgeries is a devastating complication necessitating a prospective study. The primary aim was to identify ophthalmological changes contrib...
Comparison of thyromental height test(TMH) with modified mallampati test and thyromental distance for prediction of difficult laryngoscopy: a prospective study
Introduction: No anesthesia is safe unless diligent efforts are made to secure and maintain an intact airway. Various tests have been in practice i.e., Modified Mallampati Test(MMT), Thyromental Distance(TMD), Sternoment...
Comparison of two supraglottic airways - I-gel and Proseal laryngeal mask airway for ease of insertion and hemodynamic stability
Introduction and Aims: Supraglottic airway devices are safe and efficient in airway management. I-gelTM and ProsealTM laryngeal mask airway are supraglottic airway devices which are used to secure and maintain airway dur...
