Analiza rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych powierzchni ciernych nowych tarcz hamulcowych

Abstract

Disc brakes are one of the most important components of the brake disc. Since the inception of this type of brake as a replacement for the drum brake, many brake discs have been developed. The superiority of the disc brake system over the classic drum brake is mainly due to the possibility of achieving higher braking power, friction material selection allowing for friction characteristics as a function of time and braking speed, and significantly better heat exchange conditions occurring during braking to the environment. Disc brakes subjected to higher loads use brake discs which, in addition to the ventilation between the friction rings, are additionally drilled or scored. Such constructions have a significant effect on the improvement of the braking process, especially at high thermal loads, which results in braking performance, but significantly affect the higher manufacturing costs and the tendency to surface cracks. The article presents several archimedean spiral-shaped brake discs as a solution that improves friction characteristics at low cost associated with their manufacture.
