Analysis and Simulation of Steering Performance of Six-Wheeled Articulated Vehicle

Abstract
A rear wheel steering six-wheeled swing-arm articulated vehicle was designed to improve the low space utilization of articulated vehicles during articulated steering. Meanwhile,a mechanical model for the steering of articulated vehicle was set up according to the structural features of vehicle. The steering resisting moment and steering driving moment of vehicle were analyzed by theory,and the factors determining resisting moment were summarized. A simulation model for the articulated vehicle was set up via multibody dynamics simulation software Recur Dyn. The correctness of the theoretical calculation method for steering resisting moment was proved through comparative analysis of the theoretical value and simulation value of steering resisting moment.
