Analysis of dynamic processes of heat energy accumulation in the centralized heating systems

Abstract
Use of thermoelectric generators in the centralized heating systems for the regulation of frequency and real power in Ukraine's interconnected system represents one of the most promising areas. The cyclical pattern of their operation brings about significant fluctuations in thermal capacity at the heating network inlet. To mitigate these fluctuations, it is necessary to employ technologies providing storage of thermal energy in the networks. Significant capacity fluctuations at the heating network inlet will trigger off dynamic processes, which are currently understudied, and this may affect the reliability of the heating supply systems. The purpose of this work is to determine the temperature and capacity behavior at the heating network inlet in case of thermal power storage, as well as the factors which have impact thereon. Dynamic process analysis enabled obtaining analytic expressions for the coolant temperature in the feeding and reverse pipelines, the capacity and the rate of its change at the heating network inlet in the process of thermal power storage. It was established that in the process of thermal power storage in the networks, the coolant temperature will grow in linear fashion in the feeding pipeline, and stepwise in the reverse pipeline. It is demonstrated that the only factors affecting the maximum capacity at the heating network inlet and the rate of its change are the coolant flow and the rate of its temperature change. It has been established that the capacity at the heating network inlet will be increasing at the beginning of storage, and decreasing after the rates of change of coolant temperatures in the feeding and reverse pipelines become equal. After the coolant arrives from the last valve of the passage system, the capacity gain will become zero (the storage process will be finished).
