ANALYSIS OF ENERGETIC PARAMETERS FOR ANTITANK KINETIC AMMUNITION OF CONTEMPORARY BATTLEFIELD

Abstract
Basic energetic parameters of select-ed examples of 120 mm APFSDS (armur piercing fin stabilised discarding sabots) service projectiles are specified and analysed in the paper. Author has estimated chances for meeting penetration capacities through RHA (rolled homogeneous armour) by designs of kinetic energy projectiles which are currently under development. The summary also includes a characterisation of present limitations for tank guns ballistic parameters.
