ANALYSIS OF MEDICAL RESOURCES IN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

Abstract
One of the important elements in determining the level of social development of the country and the quality of life of its inhabitants is an appropriate availability of medical resources. Access to medical resources differs across Europe. The goal of the present article is to analyze the availability of medical technology and the hospital technical resources as well as the diagnostic and treatment procedures performed in hospitals and ambulatory providers. The article analyses data from the EUROSTAT on the state of health care physical resources and their utilization in selected European countries, for which data are available, for the period 2008-2013. The comparisons are focused on three subject areas: medical technology, technical resources in hospitals, examinations by medical imaging techniques. The problem of availability of medical resources is shown on the background of the average for the analyzed countries.<br/><br/>
