Journal Title: Journal of Special Education and Rehabilitation - Year 1997, Vol 1, Issue 4
Abstract
An analysis for range of children with speech difficulties in their development with speech therapy treatment is made for a period of 3 years ( 1993-1996 ) in the Institute for hearing, speech and voice in Skopje. The obtained results from the analysis show that “ for the time the children have to go to school, parent’s interest in their children’s speech is increased. About 90 % of the children ranged with speech therapy treatment, in that period they were at 5-7 years of age, and that shows that a part of the utmost period for development of the speech is missed. Also a great number of children with speech difficulties in their development were not ranged with speech therapy treatment. The reasons for that are the late directing of children, the social and cultural factor, economic condition of the family.
