Analysis of the current state of the fuel and energy complex of Ukraine

Abstract
The subject of the article is to study the current state and dynamics of the main indicators of Ukraine’s fuel and energy complex (FEC). The purpose of research is to analyse the state and the key problems of Ukraine’s fuel and energy complex, as well as to offer ways to improve its activities. In the study, the author was used such general scientific and special methods as analysis and synthesis, analogy and comparison, expert evaluations and so on. The results of scientific research. The current state and dynamics of the main indicators of the fuel and energy complex of Ukraine for 2006-2016 has been studied. The activity of the fuel and energy complex is represented by two independent industries – power and fuel industries. Conclusions. Although Ukraine isn’t different its energy dependence from most European countries, but its excessive dependence from external monopoly sources of the fuel and energy resources supply was and is one of the main threats to energy security and national security in general. The main way to neutralize these threats is diversification. This diversification should concern not only the sources and routes of transportation of energy resources, and also energy technologies.
