Analysis of the Programs of Tourist Trips as the Basis for a Typology of Participants in Religious Tourism

Journal Title: Folia Turistica - Year 2016, Vol 39, Issue

Abstract

Purpose. The aim of this study is to show the variety of organized tourist trip programs, which targets are holy and religiously significant places and the content of these programs is dominated by religious ideas or their tangible and intangible manifestations. The output hypothesis assumes that by establishing the most frequent program modules and assigning typical behavior of participants to them, it is possible to pre-establish some basic types of these expeditions and further determine (indirectly) the interests involved as specifically as possible, regardless the existence (or its lack) of strictly religious motivation.
