Analysis of theoretical security level of PDF Encryption mechanism based on X.509 certificates
Journal Title: Bulletin of the Military University of Technology - Year 2017, Vol 66, Issue 4
Abstract
PDF Encryption is a content security mechanism developed and used by Adobe in their products. In this paper, we have checked a theoretical security level of a variant that uses public key infrastructure and X.509 certificates. We have described a basis of this mechanism and we have performed a simple security analysis. Then, we have showed possible tweaks and security improvements. At the end, we have given some recommendations that can improve security of a content secured with PDF Encryption based on X.509 certificates. Keywords: DRM, cryptography, security level, PDF Encryption, Adobe, X.509

Oszacowanie dynamicznej nośności tarczy żelbetowej z materiałów konstrukcyjnych o bardzo wysokiej wytrzymałości
W pracy przedstawiono analizę dynamicznej nośności prostokątnych tarcz żelbetowych wykonanych z materiałów o bardzo wysokiej wytrzymałości obciążonych dynamicznie z uwzględnieniem fizycznych nieliniowości materiałów kons...
Model of substitute material in the analysis of the bent reinforced concrete cross-section
The paper presents the methodology for determination of strength and deformation parameters for a hypothetical model of homogeneous substitute material in the reinforced concrete cross section subjected to pure bending....
Study on the influence of finite element formulation and equation of motion solution scheme on FEM analysis results based on the asymmetrically loaded plate problem
Computer simulations of physical phenomena are at the moment common both in science and industry. The possibility of finding approximate solutions for complicated systems of differential equations, mathematically describ...
Determination of the thermal time constant of the reinforced concrete building component
As a result of changes in the boundary conditions, a heat exchange in the building envelope is not always in a steady state. Heat fluxes penetrating through the wall may be several times greater than the steady state. Th...
Liquid-crystalline composites for point temperature measurements
The application of cholesteric liquid crystals and composites containing them for visualization of thermal field and temperature measurement is very well known. Despite all disadvantages as limited precision and adhesion...
