ANALYTICAL CAPABILITIES OF THE ENTERPRISE BALANCE SHEET (STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL POSITION

Abstract
The article examines the composition and structure of the balance sheet (statement of financial position) of the enterprise, and its purpose. The procedure of reflection of assets, liabilities and equity in the balance sheet is determined. The article analyzes the balance in the terms of articles, absolute indicators of financial stability, profitability (economic efficiency) of capital, business activity of the enterprise by means of horizontal analysis. To improve analytical capabilities of the balance sheet, it is proposed to supplement the form of the balance sheet (statement of financial position) with the explanations of inventories (low-value fast-wearing items, spare parts, building materials, fuel, raw materials and materials), receivables for goods, work and services by the types. Information presented by the balance sheet (statement of financial position) affects users’ decision-making, enables to evaluate timely past, present and future events, validate and correct former estimations.
