Anlam Değişimi

Abstract
Dil, doğası gereği zaman içinde birçok değişime uğramıştır. 19. yüzyılda, dilbilimciler anlamda değişim olur mu sorusunu sorup bu soruya cevaplar bulmaya çalışmışlardır. Dildeki bu değişimin en görünür kısmı da doğal olarak kelimeler üzerinde olmuştur. Tarihi süreç içerisinde farklı yerlerden pekçok dilbilimci anlam değişimine sebep olan bazı etkenleri tespit edip bunları bilimsel olarak temellendirmeye ve mantıksal kurallar şeklinde sınıflandırmaya çalışmıştır. Kelimelerde meydana gelen değişimler farklı nedenlere bağlı olmaktadır. Bu çeviride yazar, kelimelerin zaman içerisindeki değişimlerinin sebeplerine (yeni icat ve ihtiyaçların ortaya çıkması, toplumsal ve kültürel gelişim, psikolojik ve duygusal durumlar, mecazî değişim, yaratıcılık) ve bu değişimin hangi yollarla olduğuna (anlam genişlemesi, anlam daralması, anlam kayması, mübalağa) değinmiştir.
