Abstract
Purpose. The primary objective of the present paper is an attempt at determining the role of anthropology in tourism research and analysis of the contribution of the “Annals of Tourism Research” (ATR) journal into the popularization of such studies. An additional study aim embraces an analysis of the ATR’s position within the market of tourism research journals.
