ANTIODIDANT AND RADIOPROTECTIVE FEATURES OF ROSEMARY (ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS) EXTRACTS
Journal Title: Journal of Science And Arts - Year 2009, Vol 11, Issue 2
Abstract
Numerous studies have examined the radioprotective effects of antioxidant compounds, generally known like free radical scavengers, which protect cells from free radical damage. Various plant extracts have been investigated to evaluate their radioprotective effects. The present study deals with the radioprotective activity of ethanolic extract prepared from Rosmarinus officinalis in terms of antioxidative activity and on Swiss albino mice post irradiation morbidness and death rate, respectively. Effects of 0.1 and 0.2/Kg body wt. of Rosemary extract on radiation – induced morbidity and mortality in mice exposed to 10Gy of gamma radiation were studied for the characterization of high efficiency protection exhibited by Rosemary extract.

COMPARATIVE DIELECTRIC AND OPTICAL STUDY OF A PURE AND POLYMER DOPED LIQUID CRYSTAL SHOWING SMECTIC A PHASE
The dielectric measurements have been done for the determination of real and imaginary part of permittivity of a monotropic Smectic sample alongwith its polymer doped sample. The samples have been investigated in the fre...
RADIATION EFFECTS ON POLYPROPYLENE NANOCOMPOSITES CONTAINING<br /> TITANIA
Nanocomposites containing polypropylene as host material and titania were studied over a large concentration range (up to 30 %). The contribution of inorganic phase was evaluated by nonisothermal chemiluminescence w...
SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CaTiO3Pr FILMS
This study related on the synthesis and characterization of coatings consisting of CaTiO[sub]3[/sub]Pr by sol-gel and electrochemical deposition techniques in different working conditions. An electrolytic bath containing...
FUNCTION WITH RESTRICTED CAUCHY KERNEL IMAGE
In this paper we give a characterization of the functions whose Cauchy Kernel image belongs to a subgroup or a linear subspace. The results are in conection with Hyers - Ulam stability of functional equations.
STUDY ABOUT EVALUATION OF HUMAN EXPOSURE TO HAND-TRANSMITTED VIBRATION
This study investigates the perception of vibrations at the fingertip of the human hand. The study involved 10 adult male subjects, constant-velocity sinusoidal excitations at different discrete frequencies in the range...
