Aperture Coupled Antenna for Wireless Communication

Abstract
A planar aperture coupled microstrip antenna has been proposed for WLAN application 2.45 GHz band which can be used for Radio frequency (RF) harvesting. The proposed antenna consists of a two substrate layer of Duroid, rectangular hole at the ground and a square patch. The antenna resonats at 2.40 GHz will a fairly good return loss of -40 dB. The antenna gain at 2.40 GHz is 5.3 dBi.The total volume of the antenna is found to be 75 cm3.
