APPLICATION OF FOLDED SURFACES IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
Journal Title: Journal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics - Year 2015, Vol 10, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper presents the usage of folded surfaces as parts of a building system. This type of surfaces is not often used in constructions, even though the structures get to have a very special and spectacular design. The authors present some of the most known structures using the folded surfaces as a building component.

GREEN CORE HOUSE
The Green Core House is a construction concept with low environmental impact, having as main central element a greenhouse. The greenhouse has the innovative role to use the biomass energy provided by plants to save energ...
UNFOLDED REGULAR AND SEMI-REGULAR POLYHEDRA
This paper proposes a presentation unfolding regular and semi-regular polyhedra. Regular polyhedra are convex polyhedra whose faces are regular and equal polygons, with the same number of sides, and whose polyhedral angl...
THERMAL ENGINE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM
The paper presents a description for the air intake system for the thermal engines and theimportance of this regarding the engine power, pollution level and acoustic behaviour. The first part of theresearch shows it at l...
VIRTUAL MODEL OF A ROBOTIC VACUUM CLEANER
This paper presents the 3D virtual model of the robotic vacuum cleaner in terms of vacuum cleaner elements. The paper is focused on the design of the subassemblies specific to the vacuum cleaner and presents the features...
SOME SURFACES OF SECOND ORDER AS EXAMPLES OF WEBER`S SURFACES
In this paper we consider some surfaces of second order as surfaces generated from focaldirectorial elements (point, line, plane). Extraction of parts of the surface according to appropriate algebraic-geometric condition...
