Application of Modified Newton Flow Model to Earth Reentry Capsules
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2014, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
This paper presents an implementation of the modified Newton method for the aerodynamic analysis of Planetary Reentry Capsules. A straightforward method is employed, such that a CATIA model and its hybrid surface mesh are used as input. Reference capsules are analyzed and results are compared to other similar codes. Future improvements of the code consider the Busemann correction of the wall pressure, heat flux evaluation and unsteadiness in order to enable the analysis of the hypersonic portion of trajectory and to assess the vehicle’s stability.

Nanofilled EPDM composite for aerospace applications
O-rings are designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface. The joint may be static, or (in a few circumstances) may have relative motion betw...
Local correlations for flap gap oscillatory blowing active flow control technology
Active technology for oscillatory blowing in the flap gap has been tested at INCAS subsonic wind tunnel in order to evaluate this technology for usage in high lift systems with active flow control. The main goal for this...
Thermal Effects on Single - Lap, Single - Bolt, Hybrid Metal – Composite Joint Stiffness
A three-dimensional finite element model has been developed to study the temperature effects on stiffness in linear-elastic range of the bolted metal-composite joints. In this study a quasi - symmetric lay - up for CFRP...
A new approach in the numerical simulation for the blood flow in large vessels
In this paper we are proposing a new approach in the numerical simulation of the blood flow in large vessels. The initial conditions are set to be compatible with the non-Newtonian model used. Numerical experiments in st...
A short bibliographic report on Small UAV design
This article presents a detailed example for the design of all aspects of a prototype unmanned aerial vehicle, also dealing with the use of multi-segmented flight control surfaces of these UAV’s wings. Adding multiple se...
