Journal Title: International Journal of Farming and Allied Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 18
Abstract
In this study the comparative advantage of rapeseed in Sistan was investigated by using DRC index and policy analysis matrix (PAM) during 2010-2011. Data were collected from Zabol AgriJahad organization and annual foreign trade database. Nominal protection coefficient index of rapeseed showed that indirect tax has been imposed on producers. EPC index represented that there were nonsupport of input and output market in Sistan region. NSP index were positive in Sistan. Result supports this idea that Sistan has comparative advantage in rapeseed production. Increase in yield, decrease in production cost and improve in cropping pattern are approaches for usefulness of rapeseed production in Sistan region.
